Permaculture & Agroecology - The Bec Hellouin Farm

From Buddhist Action on Mon, 20 Mar, 2017 - 05:50

This video describes how permaculture can be a holistic and productive source of food production whilst also respecting and nourishing the environment and the beings we share our world with.  Here is some background:

Le Bec-Hellouin, France

International business lawyer Perrine Hervé-Gruyer was eyeing a career and a life change. She had bounced around the world, with stints in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Pam Warhurst: How we can eat our landscapes (Incredible Edibles)

From Buddhist Action on Mon, 20 Mar, 2017 - 05:42

This video describes how ‘incredible edibles’ was set up and the transformational effect it had on the community in Todmorden. Pam Warhurst is an ordinary human being, like all of us, and she and her friends did something amazing, which is now being replicated in over a 1000 other projects around the world.

Take a look at

For BAM 2017 I think the idea that each Buddhist Centre BAM team could establish/participate in a community based incredible edible project, however humble, within...

Demain/ Tomorrow - the film - a fantastic resource for BAM

From Buddhist Action on Sun, 19 Mar, 2017 - 20:59

I have just seen the film ‘Demain/ Tomorrow’ - it is amazing, and deeply inspiring. I encourage all aspiring bodhisattvas to find a way to view it (there is a DVD available and it is still showing in some cinemas). We could arrange screenings at our local Buddhist centres.  It is an incredible resource for BAM and for our precious Sangha. Follow the link

Here is the blurb ‘Showing solutions, telling a...

Fundraising - It doesn't just raise funds

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Mon, 13 Mar, 2017 - 14:51

Recently we launched our appeal for funds to support the new shrineroom project. Already people are making generous donations - many thanks to all who’ve given – we’ve reached £1475. And also ideas have been springing up - involving film, poetry, art, swimming, quizzes… and cake. What a creative bunch! Fundraising doesn’t just raise funds, it raises our creativity, mutual appreciation and participation. It builds our Sangha. Looking forward to a rich time ahead.

Week 7 has certainly not seen any let...
