Vajradaka is a meditation teacher who has lived and breathed (pardon the pun) his practice for decades. He lives at Vajraloka, one of our long time retreat centres in North Wales in the UK.
The College of Public Preceptors has been growing and its make-up is changing. By next year we could have 45 active members, and it will inevitably continue to grow as the movement expands and more public preceptors are needed. Many of the founding generation still in the College have been coming together in all sorts of meetings and gatherings for 40 years. In the latest NewsByte, Clear Vision looks back at Buddhafield’s Green Earth Awakening festival, held 20th-24th September this year, when Buddhists of several traditions came together with non-Buddhists and activists and campaigners for a few days’ camping in the Blackdown Hills in Devon, UK.
As Buddhafield say on their website, “The Green Earth Awakening is a convergence of engaged Buddhism, community living, land skills, and creative responses [leading] towards social resilience.”
22-25 February at Dharmagiri. According to the Doodle we sent out a few weeks ago, this is the weekend when most people can attend. (It was hard to find any date that was really good for lots and lots of people.)

On the 2nd weekend of September 2017, the well established Southampton sangha officially opened the doors of its first centre. Chair Sudharshini tells us about the project and the celebrations.
Carunalaka writes from Australia: “It’s a little-known fact that Vajradharini, from Pune, India, has been making kesas for the worldwide Triratna Buddhist Order for the past seven years.
Recently I suggested there were many people who would be delighted to ‘meet’ the woman who makes these items, given to members of the Order at their ordinations. I persuaded her to speak to camera - in English - even though she was very shy about doing so.
