Thanks to the strength of Kalyana Mitrata (spiritual friendship) and gifts to FutureDharma Fund, Mitras in Venezuela are benefitting from a rich programme of retreats, including studying the System of Practice and Mitra study on ‘What is the Sangha?’, as well as talks on William Blake.

FutureDharma Fund supports ongoing appeal for Venezeula crisis

By Charlotte Lawes on Mon, 7 Aug, 2017 - 17:23

Thanks to the generosity of the European Chairs Assembly, in just a few minutes FutureDharma Fund raised £5000 in pledges to help sangha members in Venezuela, whose country is in crisis.

Chairs from Triratna Buddhist Centres across Europe and representatives from major Triratna projects had gathered together at Vajrasana for a 10-day meeting. They were joined by several other Chairs from around the world, including Vajranatha. He is the only Order Member in Venezuela and Chair of Merida Buddhist Centre, supporting a sangha including 22 mitras,...

Other things you could do to help people in Venezuela

By Vajranatha on Sat, 5 Aug, 2017 - 13:47

  • Offer friendship online to people in the Sangha
  • Do you have an old smart

News from Bristol

By Vajranatha on Wed, 2 Aug, 2017 - 14:24

On the recent ECA meeting several centres pledged to raise a total of £5000 to help the Venezuelan Sangha with travel expenses so they can take part in retreats outside Venezuela and Order Members can travel to support them.

Bristol is the first centre to respond. I was invited to give a ten minute talk at their regulars’ class about the situation in Venezuela. After the talk we did mettabhavana including Venezuela in the last stage. At the end...

Day 8 report from the ECA summer meeting

By Munisha on Tue, 25 Jul, 2017 - 15:32

Here in Suffolk, UK, days come and go, the rain pours down, the duck family continues to parade around (see previous report), and the Chairs are still meditating, doing puja, chatting, walking and listening to presentations and small groups.

They’ve looked at the work of Triratna’s Translations Board; members of the College and Adhisthana Kula have visited to explain the work they’re doing to address painful aspects of Triratna’s past; and the ECA’s Safeguarding officer, Munisha, has...
