Come and join in the Urban Retreat Meditations

By Dassini on Mon, 22 Jul, 2013 - 10:31As part of the the Urban Retreat this week, we’re having meditation at 7.30am, followed by optional breakfast. These sessions are Monday to Friday and they’re open to the whole sangha.

We’re also having a half-hour sit at 12.30, Monday to Thursday, so feel free to come along to them as well.

The material is centred on the Buddha’s Honeyball Sutta and will help act as a springboard to taking us deeper into our practice - noticing opportunities for change and growth.

I gave this talk at the European Chair’s Assembly in January 2012 about the trial we did during the Urban Retreat (October 2011) for Groups and Projects on thebuddhistcentre.com. We learned a lot and this is a report on the experience - and the potential - of a Triratna social network, with some considerations of the bigger questions about how online contexts can help foster a sense of community and support people in their personal practice.
