On Tuesday 26th February we celebrated Akashagarbha who had been the men’s Mitra convener for 12 years and had a ritual passing the baton to Achalamuni who has taken on that responsibility.

Chris Bicknell rejoiced beautifully in Akashagarbha speaking under three headings: selflessness, love of the dharma and friendship. 33 young people from Wardha, India, recently made a commitment to follow the Buddhist path in the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community during a Dhammamitra Diksha Ceremony. On Saturday, March 24th, the Portsmouth Buddhist Center community came together to support and celebrate the mitra ceremonies of Sarah Flause and Chongson Scotts. Sangha members from Boston, Maine, New Hampshire and New York (well, New Jersey actually!) were among those gathered as well as family and friends of Sarah and Chong.

Thank you to Lona & Maryellen for bringing the flowers, and to Danakamala for creating the shrine. The colors all came together so beautifully! Thank you also to everyone...

Zoe Lim is the only GFR mitra in Singapore. She found Triratna at the Nottingham centre when she was a student, and since moving back to Singapore has returned to the UK to attend retreats at Tiratanaloka, and travelled to India for the International Buddhist Youth Convention. Liz caught up with her online to talk about her life in Singapore and how online resources keep her connected with the Sangha.
