For Bhante’s funeral I was filming from very far back, almost in the weather, but I liked the compositions.

The Urygen Sangharakshita International School in India

Posted by Sadayasihi to Triratna News on Mon, 12 Mar, 2018 - 12:46

There are many different Buddhist projects happening around the Triratna world.  One interesting project is a school run by Buddhists in Amravati in Maharashtra, in India.

The Urygen Sangharakshita International School was officially opened by Subhuti in 2016.  It was the brainchild of Mitra Sandeep Janardan Rakshit (a teacher in a Marathi state school) who felt that setting up a Buddhist school would be a worthwhile endeavour - and ‘Urygen Sangharaskhita’ seemed like a fitting name as a mark of...

Subhuti has been at the heart of the College from the very beginning. He was the first chairman of the College and has played a leading part in giving the College its form and shape. Subhuti was, in fact,  a preceptor before there was even a...

Retirement from the College

As I have been approaching my 70th birthday in December this year, I have for some time been considering retiring from the College. After consulting with Bhante, Saddhaloka and his Deputies, the Adhisthana Kula members, my own Indian Kula, and other close friends, I have decided to take that step. This has therefore been my last College meeting as an active Public ...

An outstanding series of talks by Subhuti on the theme of Sadhana during the Manjughosa Stuti Sadhana retreat at Adhisthana in 2017.

Over the course of six talks he articulates the stages we traverse in the practice of sadhana, which correspond to the stages of the system of practice - Reverence, Solidarity, Wise Attention, The Illumined Image, Dwelling in Reality and Dedication.
