The Visualisation of the Tantric Stupa

A six week video course teaching Buddhist meditation, including the Visualisation of the Tantric Stupa, which gives us tools to reveal our true nature.

These tools include:

- Guided visualisations of the Tantric Stupa, focusing in turn on its different coloured forms and the elements which they symbolise; earth, water, fire, air and space. Each part of the stupa is further associated with one of the Five Buddha Mandala, whose mantras we’ll be introduced to, and a chakra.

Stone Stupa Built at Akashavana Retreat Centre, Spain

On a working retreat in November, a new stupa was built at Akashavana retreat centre, Spain, containing the ashes of Dhardo Rinpoche, one of Sangharakshita’s main teachers.

This stupa joins a number of other stupas dedicated to Dhardo Rinpoche across our community in retreat centres such as Tiratanaloka, Padmaloka and Vajrasana in the UK, Aryaloka (USA), Vimaladhatu (Germany), Guhyaloka (Spain), and Sudarshanaloka (New Zealand). On Sunday, March 8th, Dhardo Rinpoche will lead a Stupa Dedication ceremony at Aryaloka Buddhist Center, 11 am (please arrive by 10:50 am). As there is limited parking due to all the snow, there will be a couple of shuttle vans from Newmarket Elementary School from 10 am - 10:45 am, 243 S Main St, Newmarket, NH 03857.

Aryaloka's stupa: taking a stand on samsara

By Munisha on Wed, 30 Jul, 2014 - 10:31Further to our previous news post, The Dhardo Rinpoche stupa at Aryaloka Retreat Center in New Hampshire, USA is rapidly taking shape, with the completion of the base, or “lion throne” portion.

This lion throne contains a large sealed urn with contents representing aspects of samsara, some of them rather intriguing! Here are a few of them.
  • An old police service revolver and ammunition
  • A knife
  • Some coral
  • Gold chains
  • Silver and amber items
  • Dirt from the homes of wealthy people
  • Horse and alpaca fur
  • A hammer
  • Garden tools
  • A symbolic hatchet

By viriyalila on Thu, 24 Jul, 2014 - 00:01The Dhardo Rinpoche stupa at Aryaloka is rapidly taking shape. The base, or “lion throne” portion of the stupa was completed on Monday. Into it we placed a large sealed urn or vase, with contents representing things of samsara:

An old police service revolver and ammunition
