Every time the Triratna Buddhist Order gathers for an international Convention, we have a delightful ritual where Order Members who have been ordained in the last couple of years introduce themselves. Here’s a selection of the many who said hello at the Order Convention in Bodhgaya India, 4th Feb 2018.

As we close the week-long Order retreat and turn towards our Convention marking the 50th anniversary of Triratna and the Order itself, we are in Bodhgaya, India, to bring you live coverage of a public ordination under the Bodhi tree.
The twin ordination ceremonies held in India on 17th December 2017 saw the entry of 68 people to the Order (21 women and 47 men); the largest number of people to enter the Order on one day in the Order’s 50 years.
There were 146 ordinations worldwide in 2017 (73 women and 73 men). This is the largest number of people to have entered the Order in one year.
2017 also saw 16 resignations (8 women and 8 men).
Saturday October 7th 2017 was a special day with 2 public ordinations staking place. First, at the Manchester Buddhist Centre, Claire Walsh became Nischalasri, having been privately ordained by Amritamati at Tiratanaloka and then publicly ordained by Dayanandi in her home town Buddhist Centre. Then, a few hours later, Keith Hogan had his public ordination in Dublin (the first to take place on Irish soil)...
