Metta Practice This Week

From Coogee Buddhist Group on Tue, 4 Jun, 2013 - 02:46‘The great secret of morals is love; or a going out of our own nature, and an identification with ourselves with the beautiful which exists in thought, action, or person, not our own. A man, to be greatly good, must imagine intensely and comprehensively; he must put himself in the place of another and of many others; the pains and pleasures of his species must become his own.’

Saturday Sangha Mornings in June

From Croydon Buddhist Centre on Mon, 3 Jun, 2013 - 14:05Sangha mornings are occasions when regular practitioners of our centre and community come together to sit at the feet of the Buddha, explore his Dharma and endeavour to create Sangha. Saturday mornings commence with salutation of the shrine and the chanting of the refuges and precepts before engaging in meditation practice. There will be the opportunity to take part in a more introductory, led meditation in our downstairs shrine room, therefore newcomers are still welcome to attend.

Then we have a beautiful short talk...

Notes from an Appealing Buddhist

From Leeds Buddhist Centre on Sat, 1 Jun, 2013 - 23:13Day 3: Out on the Streets

It’s the end of the first week and we’ve all survived. Unfortunately two of our team - Amitasuri and Jamie - have been poorly and therefore unable to join us on the first few days of the Karuna door-knocking appeal. However we’re hoping that they’ll both be fit and well very soon.

I must say that, generally (and perhaps surprisingly) we seem to have enjoyed ourselves. Speaking for myself, I’m having a...

A change of time?

From Online Meditators on Thu, 30 May, 2013 - 16:56Hi all, we’ve had a bit of feedback of late that the time for online meditation no longer really suits people’s schedules, including several folk who have been attending regularly… So, given that, we were wondering if a shift to evening time in the UK/Europe would work better? That would mean starting sometime between 11am-12pm PST / 2-3pm EST / 7-8pm UK / 8-9pm Europe.

Please let us know your thoughts here or over on...
