Great Ocean

From Lights In The Sky - living dharma on Sat, 6 Oct, 2018 - 23:33

‘Suryaprabha’s subtle visual means of conveying his message is an important contribution to the arts in [Triratna].’

Friendship is the lifeblood of our movement and Sangharakshita’s example is its source. But there is no real record of his friendships, and as time passes chances to create it diminish.  What is needed is a film about Bhante and friendship.

The Five Things That Make Us Up: A Buddhist View of Being and Experience

From Portsmouth Buddhist Center on Thu, 4 Oct, 2018 - 20:36

Sundays 9.30am-12pm, October 7- November 11

Here in Portsmouth we’re spending Fall and early Winter exploring Spiritual Receptivity as part of our year-long exploration of what it means to have a rounded approach to the Dharma – and how we might live more in alignment with it. It’s been sweet as an apple to sit each week with our experience, cooling off after the heat of summer. And now it’s time to start to mulch down with the many-colored leaves that have blown our way...

Evolution of a Pacifist - Sean O'Casey and Buddhism

From Dublin Buddhist Centre on Thu, 4 Oct, 2018 - 20:13

Eventually in ‘The Silver Tassie’, set partially in the trenches of WW1, he espoused a pacifist message of the utter futility of war.

Maitrikaya explores how O’Casey believed in the solidarity of the entire human race over narrow national interests and how, though...

5 Years of The Buddhist Centre Online: #9 Sound and Vision

From Buddhist Centre Features on Mon, 24 Sep, 2018 - 12:01
