A further message of condolence from beyond Triratna, from Robert Harrap, director of Soka Gakkai UK (SGI-UK) (another one of the three largest Buddhist groups in the UK along with Triratna and the New Kadampa Tradition). He had met Bhante at the European Buddhist Union meeting at Adhisthana in September, and he attended the Bhante’s funeral.

“I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Sangharakshita passing away. I am sending prayers for his eternal life, and for the wider Triratna movement.

I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet him at Adhisthana and was able to talk with him about his memories of working with Dr Ambedkar and the dalit movement in India. He shared with me that at the time he had taught the parables from the Lotus Sutra, which of course are key teachings for us in SGI.

With warm wishes,
Robert Harrap
