Welcome to the home page of The Triratna Translations Project.
Many of Sangharakshita’s core books and some books of his disciples have been translated into a range of languages over the years. The Translation project over the least few years gained more momentum and the International Triratna Translations Board (ITTB) is putting a lot of energy into this work. Watch this space!
Something that has already happened is that the main rituals and ceremonies used in the Triratna Buddhist Community have been translated into many languages where Triratna has some presence or connection. We’re a worldwide community and between us we are probably in touch many more languages.
We’ll be working in language-based groups – see below for the ones we’ve created so far, and please do join any that you are interested in. The aim is to translate the same groups of texts into all languages: The Dedication Ceremony, The Refuges and Precepts, The Threefold Puja. If you want further information on a language or Triratna’s presence in a specific country, there should be a link to their main website, or write to the email below or search this site more.
In time we may include introductions to the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditations, also basic Buddhism and an introduction to the Triratna Buddhist Community and how it works. After that comes a follow-on project to collect recordings of all the above spoken or chanted by native speakers – please let us know if you’d like to contribute to that.
Here are the languages (underlined) that we’ve got translations in, so far:
