On Day 10 of our 12 Days of FBA fundraising event we offer you another two absolutely excellent unreleased talks from the Free Buddhist Audio archives!
The main talk is a very special recording of Sangharakshita in a talk given to the European Chairs’ Assembly in 2009 called “The Teachers of the Past”. By Munisha on Fri, 12 Dec, 2014 - 17:43An idiosyncratic and rich 15-minute video about the latest meeting of the Preceptors’ College and their consideration of current issues in Triratna, made by College member Moksananda, featuring a remarkable Skype conversation between them and Vajragita - who couldn’t attend because, as she said, she was dying. “It’s not too bad, dying!” she laughs.
And, to start and end, an interview with Sangharakshita. Well worth watching.
By Munisha on Sat, 29 Nov, 2014 - 21:54With sadness we report the death from cancer of Dharmacharini Vajragita, who died very peacefully at home in Amsterdam at around 18.00 local time today, in the company of her community. She was 76 years old.
Vajragita was ordained by Sangharakshita in 1981 in Seaford, Sussex, UK. Her yidam was Padmasambhava. A founder member of the sangha in the Netherlands, she lived and worked at Taraloka (UK) for several years. She recently became a Public preceptor.
Tonight Parami chats to Sanghadevi - a public preceptor for over 20 years - and Maitreyabandhu who joined the college in March of this year. As well as their impressions of the college, they movingly share with us their experience of a Skype meeting earlier today with Vajragita. Vajragita is not with us as she is unwell with terminal cancer and in today’s Skype with the college, she shared her thoughts and feelings about facing her death.
