The International Western Dharma Teacher Gathering closed on Sunday 24th October with this Buddhist Gospel song from a Black-led American Theravadin sangha. We’re told they are releasing an album soon, but for now we’ll have to be content with this!

A musical prayer to the Buddhas

A fellow Buddhist called Sherab Sengge (also known as Peter Campbell-Kelly), practicing in a Tibetan tradition, offers this video of himself playing a sublime piece of music on solo violin. He describes it as “a musical prayer to the Buddhas for the well-being of all, in this desperately difficult pandemic…“.

To go with the performance he also wrote the following poem:

Le livret en a été écrit par Sarvananda et Satyadaka, et la musique composée par Amalamati - tous des membres de l’Ordre bouddhiste Triratna. Il a été joué par une troupe et un orchestre composés essentiellement d’amateurs de la Communauté bouddhiste...
