How Karuna is helping to spread the Dharma in India

By lokabandhu on Mon, 8 Oct, 2012 - 11:38This week features a set of stories about Triratna’s social and Dhamma work in India in the run-up to October 14th and the anniversary of the great ‘mass conversions’ of 1956. the great Buddhafield Mud Appeal

By lokabandhu on Wed, 1 Aug, 2012 - 10:13Hey everyone, am reposting here an appeal from the Buddhafield Festival folk - they say: Dear all, This is an appeal to all that came to the Buddhafield festival this year, or who love the festival, or just love Buddhafield. As you know, it’s been an incredibly wet year. Those of us who went to the festival this year all survived the mud, but due to the conditions we spent about £10,000 more onsite than expected to keep everything afloat,...

By lokabandhu on Fri, 23 Dec, 2011 - 05:36As the Western world heads rapidly towards Christmas and the holiday period, life in India goes on much as normal. And on Triratna’s land in Bodh Gaya, place of the Buddha’s Enlightenment, Buddhavajra is just getting going. He’s a young Indian Order Member who moved there with his young family just over a year ago, with the strong intention to initiate Dhamma classes and retreats for local people - so often overlooked in the throng of pilgrims visiting the glittering...

By lokabandhu on Thu, 29 Sep, 2011 - 06:02Andrea writes from Triratna’s Karuna Trust with news of their annual Supporters Newsletter, just out. She says -

“Each year Karuna produces a newsletter to keep our many supporters informed about our work in India. This year’s newsletter feels especially poignant as it was co-written by our dear friend Manjusvara who died suddenly in June.
