Andrea writes from Triratna’s Karuna Trust celebrating their last appeal of the year, a storming women’s Appeal in Birmingham UK - and highlighting their forthcoming booklet and poster advertising opportunities for 2012. She says -

Karuna Fundraising 2012: Transforming Self and World

This autumn Nealey Conquest, Lucy Spence, Viryajyoti and Carunalaka (left to right in photo) raised £100,000 in six weeks for Karuna’s projects in India.

As a result, and through the work of Karuna’s project partners in India, thousands of the most oppressed people on the planet will find their lives transformed through projects which provide educational support, cultural opportunities, legal protection and access to the Dharma.

For the six weeks of their appeal, the Karuna women were also engaged in a unique spiritual practice that challenged them to face their fears and learn to communicate with integrity and empathy. They did this with the support of each other, skilled trainers, and a retreat-like lifestyle of regular meditation, Dharma study and ritual.

Are you up for this challenge? Visit our Karuna Appeals website if you are!
