Closure of Clear Vision

By Sadayasihi on Mon, 3 Aug, 2020 - 10:47

It is with sadness that the Trustees of Clear Vision have announced its closure from September 2020. Over the past 35 years Clear Vision has been a vital part of the FWBO/Triratna Community having documented much of our community’s history through video, particularly Newsreels, Triratna Newsbytesfilming Sangharakshita’s talks, events and tours, and much more. Closing Down of Clear Vision

By sanghadhara on Sun, 2 Aug, 2020 - 11:43

It is with sadness that the Trustees of Clear Vision announce its closure from September 2020. Over the past 35 years Clear Vision has been a vital part of the FWBO/Triratna Community. It has documented much of our history so far through countless video programmes, particularly FWBO Newsreels, Triratna Newsbytes, and filming Bhante’s talks, events and tours as well as many other talks by Order Members. We have also developed the beginnings of a vast photographic archive and...

Online Dharma is for Everyone!

By Liz_Bassett on Thu, 19 Jan, 2017 - 11:12

Giving the Dharma to anyone and everyone who wants it is what it’s all about. That’s why Triratna makes so much Dharma available online. The Buddhist Centre, Clearvision, Free Buddhist Audio, Video Sangha are all available completely free. And getting hold of these resources online can mean so much – access to the Dharma and a way of being part of our amazing, worldwide sangha. Munisha met up with Thomas and Carina Rotter, a couple in Austria, who live far from any Triratna centre,...

Austria calling Triratna!

By Munisha on Fri, 13 Jan, 2017 - 15:49

Triratna is now so large, it can be hard to remember that there are still many countries without any Triratna activities at all, even in Europe. In Vienna last September I got together with Thomas and Carina Rotter, Austrian Buddhists longing for someone to start Triratna activities there.

Triratna may well be one of the Buddhist movements making greatest use of online communications and, as you’ll see, they’ve certainly made determined use of it!

Thomas writes: “I found Triratna at...

ECA Winter 2016: Days 5 & 6

By Munisha on Sun, 10 Jan, 2016 - 22:18

Yesterday the 35 or so European Chairs began the day with meditation as every day; followed by a presentation on the work of the College of Public Preceptors, from its Chair, Saddhaloka.

They looked at ideas for future international celebrations of Triratna: there’s the 60th anniversary of Dr Ambedkar’s conversion to Buddhism, which falls in 14th October this year and is so particularly important for our sangha in India. In April 2017 there is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Friends of...

Manchester Buddhist Centre’s exhibition: “Sangharakshita: a life in pictures” opens on 17th August, with pictures from the Clear Vision archive. They write: “To mark this special occasion, a set of framed photos showing Sangharakshita’s life in its breadth and fullness will go on display in the Centre’s reception area. It will then be sited more permanently within the building.”
