Buddhism and Politics - A Series by Vajragupta

By Free Buddhist Audio on Sat, 24 Jul, 2021 - 15:53

Should Buddhist sanghas and Buddhist Centres get involved in politics or remain politically neutral? When political debate can be so fractious and polarised, how can Buddhists make a helpful contribution?

In this ambitious and challenging series, Vajragupta asks us to reflect on our political views and conditioning, so as to come to a deeper appreciation of what a Buddhist perspective might be.

How insight can give us access to an inexhaustible form of will, excerpt from Vimalamoksha's talk

By Christine on Mon, 15 Jun, 2020 - 19:34

The following is excerpted from Vimalamoksha’s talk, For the Earth: The Art of Skilful Choices (June 13)

When the Buddha sat under the Bodhi tree and saw all of his past lives, he witnessed an unimaginable expanse of being, he came into relationship to deep time and the oceans of the details of lived experience were not lost. This sublime doorway is something that we can all access by pushing the envelope of our imagination and finding our own relationship to deep...

plastic-free supermarkets

By mokshini on Thu, 18 Jan, 2018 - 09:52

Dear friends,
I’ve just signed a petition calling on UK supermarkets to go plastic-free, and it would mean a lot to me if you’d add your name too!

From turtles entangled in six pack rings to whales with stomachs full of plastic bags, the effects of plastic pollution can be devastating.

Metta for Merida - reminder!

By mokshini on Mon, 2 Oct, 2017 - 07:01

A little reminder that metta for Merida is still needed in bucket loads - if you haven’t done so already,  do consider following  the Metta for Merida page;  and suggest at your Buddhist Centre or Triratna Group that a metta bhavana meditation is dedicated to the sangha and all the population in Merida. And then do let the sangha in Merida know! Thank you.
