Reverencing the Buddha At the Place of His Enlightenment by Purna

By Free Buddhist Audio on Wed, 7 Feb, 2018 - 07:36

As his contribution to evoking the “lion’s roar” of the Buddha, Purna talks about myth and the importance of reverence in any spiritual life, regardless of temperament. We are given a faith-centered tour of the seven traditional spots around the Bodhi tree marking different aspects of the Buddha’s Enlightenment experience. And Purna enjoins us to “release faith” by following in the Buddha’s footsteps and dropping our rigid self view…

Saddhaloka - Tales From the Pali Canon Around Receptivity

By Candradasa on Tue, 5 Mar, 2013 - 12:33
Saddhaloka in great form under the Bodhi Tree, setting us up for a morning of reflection on the men’s convention (day 5!) by telling stories from some of the oldest Buddhist sutras. Famous tales like Meghiya meet less well-known ones (the tale of ‘Contradictor’!) and a picture emerges of the Buddha meeting all-comers and finding a way to speak that allowed their hearts to open…

In English with Hindi translation.

Full Moon Puja at the Vajrasana

By Candradasa on Tue, 26 Feb, 2013 - 15:49
At the Triratna Order Convention, Bodh Gaya, 2013, we gathered under the full moon at the Vajrasana - the seat of the Buddha’s Enlightenment itself - and performed Puja in English and Hindi as a united Order, east and west…

NB. There was a microphone/p.a. issue all evening so some of the sound is a bit distorted in parts! But it gives a certain flavour of a very noisy puja in a very noisy but still magic place!...

Later, Subhuti gave his talk, ‘Revering and Relying on the Sangha’, and then we returned at night to the seat of the...
