From Triratna News on Tue, 6 Oct, 2020 - 09:14

In February this year, six women (Bianca, Mokshini, Sanghadarsini, Simharava, Viryapadma and Viryadhi) moved into a brand-new flat in a housing cooperative in the North-East of Berlin – just in time before lockdown. Together they have embarked on a journey to create the first ever women’s community in Berlin.

In this short video, made by Simharava, some of its members share the joys and challenges of the first six months.

Dear brothers and sisters in the Order,

Greetings from Akashavana

From Akashavana on Sat, 3 Oct, 2020 - 17:49

Writing with sun shining high in the sky over mountain landscapes into the first floor lounge of Akashavana’s community house.  Outdoors from window edges to mountain ridges oaks and pines stand silently still - whilst indoors the smells  of breakfast coffee and sounds of crockery accompanied by intermittent tones of Mumukshu, Bodhipaksini .and Maitreyi vibrate through the air.

Akashavana community welcomed Maitreyi’s return for a 2 - week ‘presidential’ visit early in September.   We (and our chapter sister  Karunavapi) delighted in...

Saying Goodbye to the Earth: Eco-Anxiety and Our Response

From Aryaloka Buddhist Center on Sat, 3 Oct, 2020 - 00:00
Buddhism begins with the Buddha sitting beneath a tree, touching the earth. The Buddha's vision of connection and kindness encompasses earth, sky, and sea; from the tiniest being to the largest. The practice of non-harm invests us with empathy and care for all of life. Yet what we see happening today to the earth and its beings is likely to fill us with anxiety, "eco-anxiety" as it has been termed. This talk encourages us to allow ourselves to experience our eco-anxiety and how we respond to it, and suggests ways we can use that response to open up to the wisdom and compassion that arises from a place of love. It was originally given at Aryaloka Buddhist Center, Feb. 2020, for an Order Mitra Gathering on the theme of our environment, the many changes that are occuring to it, and how we can bring our Dharma practice into the fore of our experience in responding to these changes.

Dh Chandrashil Fifth Talk - 26rd Sept 2020

From Saddhamma Pradeep Retreat Center on Fri, 2 Oct, 2020 - 18:53

Fifth and last talk in series of online retreat for Order members given on 26th Sept 2020. In this talk Dh. Chanrashil speak about Kalyana mitrata. It was good to end the series with positive note about Mitrata.

Really it is Mitrata which keep Sangha alive. Mitrata is life blood of Sangha. We should have condition for mitrata to flourish it, for example community. Its take effort to establish, to maintain and to have continuity without personal presence..

Feel great Gratitude for Dh. Chandrashil for taking initiative in uncertain time...
