Peace meditation resources

From Buddhist Action Month 2016 on Mon, 30 May, 2016 - 11:12

If you are considering doing a public meditation for peace, here some resources you are free to use, adapt, change in any way you wish. With parliament planning to decide this year whether to spend £100 billion on renewing the UK’s nuclear weapons’ system, Sangharakshita’s call for peaceful action for nuclear disarmament seems more relevant than ever  (link to his talk in the idea document).

It might be nice for all those holding a sit to share their event on Facebook as well...

Salutation

This is the second talk in our series exploring the sevenfold puja. Amaraghosha discusses the importance of the outward expression of our devotion, in both rituals and our daily lives, using quotations and personal examples. We explore the profound nature of obeisance to the Buddha, dharma and sangha in this section of the puja. This talk was given at Croydon Buddhist Centre in May 2016 as part of the regular Saturday morning sangha class.

BAM in Shrewsbury

From Buddhist Action Month 2016 on Sat, 28 May, 2016 - 11:07

We had a great Sangha evening to launch BAM last wednesday, with three inspiring short talks on issues that have motivated sangha members to give their time and energy on a voluntary basis.  Annette spoke about her work with sex offenders, Nanette about the Severn hospice, and Danasamudra about the India Dhamma Trust.

So valuable to reflect on how people are putting metta into action in so many ways al over the world.

And Simon Thompson (our big hearted BAM champion!) spoke about the Compassion in...
