We are part of the Triratna Buddhist Community, an international Buddhist movement dedicated to making Buddhism relevant in the modern world. We meet regularly for meditation, talks and discussion on ethics, Buddhism, friendship, and Buddhist ritual.
We are a new group in the Thames Valley based in Reading offering meditation and study of the Buddhist teachings.
We will be running courses on various methods of meditation and looking at the teachings of Buddhism and their relevance to the way we live our lives.
From Tuesday 6th March we shall be looking at the five virtues being faith (sraddha), vigour (virya), mindfulness (smrti), concentration (samadhi) and wisdom (pranja). What relevance do they have in the modern world and how can we practice them?
We hold classes at the Quakers Friends meeting house, 2 Church Street, Reading, RG1 2SB. There is no parking at the venue but there is nearby street parking and car parks. The venue is close to the rail and bus stations in Reading and is a short walk from the main centre of Reading.
Tuesday evening 7.30pm to 9.30pm
