Sundays, September 2nd through September 30th, 9am-12.30pm

We’re moving into a new season again at the PBC! And this year we’ll be greeting fall and early winter by exploring the 5th aspect of the Triratna System of Practice: the aspect of Spiritual Receptivity.

Over the next 5 weeks we’ll begin our reflections with a series of Sunday community mornings looking at what it means to have and be with our experience of life – and how...

New Summer Series! Meditating on the Earth, Sitting with the Elements

By Candradasa on Wed, 4 Jul, 2018 - 16:41

Sundays, July 8-August 12, 9.30am-12pm.

Gather as usual at PPMTV, we’ll take cushions and chairs and make our way around 9.45am to Prescott Park to meditate by 10. Rain days, we’ll stay inside!

In Spring 2017 we lost our Buddhist Center to a fire. Thanks to the great generosity and hard work of lots of people, the community recovered, deepened and strengthened. And we’ve gone on together since, renewing the Portsmouth sangha in some beautiful ways here in town.

Triratna’s International Council: what they did in the summer holidays

By Munisha on Tue, 25 Oct, 2016 - 15:43

As we reported at the time, Triratna’s International Council met at Adhisthana in the first week of August.

Representatives of the Order, College and Movement from all over the world gathered to practise together – through shrine room activities and business. Their three themes were

  • World needs
  • Triratna’s System of Practice and
  • Unity and working with conflict

Over on the International Council space on The Buddhist Centre Online you’ll find Dhammarati’s very beautiful visual summary of the meeting.

Day Three at the International Council 2016

By Munisha on Thu, 4 Aug, 2016 - 20:05

Today the Council looked at Triratna’s System of Practice.

The day began with collective practice of the Manjughosha stuti sadhana in front of Sangharakshita’s Manjughosha rupa which watches over the atrium of the Sangharakshita Library. (This is a visualisation meditation practice given to Sangharakshita by his teacher Jamyang Khyentse in October 1957.)

In the morning session, Dhammamegha presented the Sikkha Project, intended to deepen our understanding of what and how we practise and teach within the Triratna community, and develop an explicit shared framework to talk about it.
