By Saccanama on Wed, 18 Jan, 2017 - 19:23

Dear brothers and sisters in the Order,

On 31st December 2016 Bhante released a personal statement to all Order members via the Order Information Service. I am speaking on behalf of all Public Preceptors when I say how glad we are that Bhante has felt able to make this statement and how much we welcome the confessional nature of the contents. I believe it will contribute to the further integration of some of the more complex and problematic aspects of...

By Saccanama on Mon, 9 Jan, 2017 - 12:48

Below is a statement from the Preceptors’ College making clear our position on sex between preceptors and those they ordain.

In response to the current discussions about our history, we in the College of Public Preceptors wish to state clearly our position on sexual relations between Preceptors and those they ordain. Here are the model ethical guidelines for Triratna centres and enterprises worldwide, which were presented at the International Council and European Chairs’ Assembly in August and September.

As ‘model’ documents, they are a suggested form of words which may be adopted just as they are, adapted or translated into other languages.

They have been published along with the latest version of Triratna’s model documents for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

By Munisha on Sat, 3 Sep, 2016 - 22:22

Ensuring the sexual, physical and psychological safety of young people and vulnerable adults is an expression of the First Precept: avoiding causing harm; cultivating loving kindness.

The 2016 versions were presented to the meeting of Triratna’s International Council in August and the...

*Post updated 14th April 2016*

Ensuring the sexual, physical and psychological safety of young people and vulnerable adults is an expression of the first of the Five Precepts: avoiding causing harm; cultivating loving kindness.

Mindful of their responsibilities in this area, Triratna’s European Chairs’ Assembly recently issued a set of model child protection policies, sent to every Triratna Centre and enterprise in Europe, and also shared with Triratna Centres around the world.

Every Triratna Centre is legally independent, responsible for its own policies. Therefore, these model policies may be adapted...
