Beyond BAM 2018

By Christine on Fri, 3 Aug, 2018 - 21:03

BAM 2018 witnessed a variety of initiatives to make the world a better place. Let’s rejoice in our individual and collective capacities to transform and to change the world. Sadhu!!!

What about Beyond BAM? Transformation of self and world cannot be limited to the month of June alone!

One tangible way we can maintain our ethical vigilance has been made possible by our friends at Ethical Consumer, who were so inspired by Buddhist Action Month that they have offered to extend the special BAM offer beyond June. Simply type...

The Network of Buddhist Organisations (NBO) in the UK has commissioned a research and design project in order to support those engaging in BAM and to help the idea to flourish. Part of that project is a questionnaire - here is the link:

What is DANCE?

By Munisha on Fri, 15 May, 2015 - 12:00

Dharma Action Network for Climate Engagement (DANCE) is a “space for connecting to explore the breadth of possible Dharma responses to climate change and related issues.”

Originating with Gaia House, in Devon, UK, a centre connected with the Insight Meditation tradition, its publicity does not yet reflect awareness of BAM (which is growing but not yet that well known). Maybe nearby Triratna sanghas would like to make contact.

Find DANCE on Facebook.

Dharma Day sees launch of UK inter-Buddhist month of ‘Earthkind’ events

By lokabandhu on Mon, 9 Jul, 2012 - 05:47Buddhists around Britain are this month taking part in the first-ever series of nationally co-ordinated ‘Earthkind’ events, launched on the recent ‘Dharma Day’, the Buddhist festival celebrated on the full moon of July. Lokabandhu, who represents Triratna at the NBO, Britain’s ‘Network of Buddhist Organisations’, explains:

“Earthkind has a rather unusual history. We were approached late last year by officials organising the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, asking if Buddhists would like to be part of...
