Community Practice Day Metta for the Earth Sunday 14 June 10.00-4.30pm

By vidyakaya on Thu, 28 May, 2015 - 12:31

A day at the Brighton Buddhist Centre to look at the Earth Metta Practice in more depth.

How can we relate it to the Six Realms of the Wheel of Life?

How do we practice Metta towards those living in Hell Realms where all they know is suffering – or towards those who live in a realm where all they can understand is Power?

And how do we become Bodhisattvas?  How do we go about practicing the Perfections of Generosity, Ethics, Patience, Energy, Concentration and Wisdom?

Exploring the Karaniya Metta Sutta - March 15, 2015

By Christine on Mon, 9 Feb, 2015 - 19:54May all beings be happy in their heart of hearts!

This day of study, reflection and ritual will explore the richness of the Karaniya Metta Sutta, the Buddha’s discourse on universal loving kindness. In particular, we’ll examine how can we make this teaching more relevant to our everyday lives and to our engagement in the world. Open to all.

Led by Khemasuri and Suddhacandika with support from Karaniya Metta Kula. Please bring a veggie lunch to share.

#EthicalChristmas: Metta Eggs – Collect Moments Not Things...

By libbydavy on Fri, 12 Dec, 2014 - 19:42Imagine being given a box of hand-crafted eggs

As a shelter in which individuals are supported to face...
