Buddhist Action Month in full swing

We’re halfway through Buddhist Action Month, a pan-Buddhist festival of social action which has spread from Britain to many countries.

With their own particular BAM theme of ‘21st century Bodhisattvas’, Triratna sanghas are hard at work (and play) in Turkey, Ireland, Australia, Germany, New Zealand and the USA, as well as Britain.

What a beautiful way to start last weekend and Buddhist Action Month - a peace circle on Cathedral Green with lovely people! And a striking image for passers- by too. It was so positive we want to do it again in July ….

Buddhist Action Month began for some members of the Sheffield sangha on Sunday May 29, with the day retreat ‘Natural Dharma’ a Work that Reconnects day in a wonderful woodland setting. It was the first proper event hosted by Kuladitya and Cecilie in their woodland (and gorgeous yurt!), which they are slowly but surely restoring from Pine plantation to Oak woodland. 21st-Century Bodhisattvas: Buddhist Action Month 2016 begins!

It’s the first day of June, which means it’s Buddhist Action Month 2016!

BAM is an annual festival of Buddhist-inspired socially benficial activity. Under the ’21st-Century Bodhisattva’ theme, over the last few weeks, Triratna sanghas in Istanbul, Dublin, Australia, Essen (Germany), New Zealand and New Hampshire (USA), as well as all over Britain, have been posting news of their plans on the dedicated BAM space here on The Buddhist Centre Online.
