Songs from Silence Retreat

24th-28th August

Frogmill, Nr Throwleigh, Devon

“We must bear silence before we can feel in our bodies the deep joy of what the world is always already singing to us”

Led by: Mokshayogin, Sraddhadipa, Jo Spence, Joe Hill and yoga/movement with Ruth Coutinho.

Starting with the premise that vibration is the beginning of all things, this retreat will explore how we might work and play with sound, resonance, vibration and the voice as Dharma practice.

Together, we will explore how harmony singing and vocal play can support us...

Buddhafield Festival is a joyful gathering of people, celebrating community and connection with the land. Song, dance, arts and crafts, yoga, meditation, and play blend together, without alcoholic drinks or recreational drugs, to create a loving and life-affirming space. There will be Buddhist teaching, workshops and ritual, under sun and stars. The festival is family-friendly and open to everyone, however you practice.

The theme for 2023 is ‘Liberation Through Imagination’.

Sounds good?

Fifty Years, Fifty Voices: Samasuri (Highlights)

By Zac on Wed, 24 Aug, 2022 - 15:48

It’s the wounded healer myth. I guess part of me wanting to be Doctor is my psyche trying to sort all that suffering out… Helping others like I’ve been helped or am being helped.

Samasuri’s Annals:

In 1968 I was not born yet!

In 1978 I was 4 years old, so probably at a play group and living in South Devon with my parents.

In 1988 I was 14 years old. Living with parents and younger brother in South Devon still. At private girls’ school in Exeter.

In 1998...

By Centre Team on Sat, 23 Apr, 2022 - 17:38

To mark Earth Day 2022, we’re joined by four friends who, one way or another, are involved with Buddhist activism. From the Buddhafield project to XR Buddhists to Silent Rebellion, we hear tales from the edge of socially engaged Buddhist practice, exploring what, if anything, Buddhists have to offer the world of protests, disruptions and often polarized issue-based politics.

Amaragita, Katja Behrendt, Priyadaka and Yogaratna offer a thoughtful set of reflections in articulating why a distinctive Buddhist approach to urgent issues...
