By Centre Team on Wed, 26 Nov, 2014 - 19:46We’re delighted to welcome as partners in our #ethicalchristmas campaign the wonderful team at Jai Bhim International.

Although they won’t sell you something for Christmas, they’ll certainly do something amazing with your money when you give someone you love the gift of supporting Jai Bhim’s inspiring new Give Them Shelter appeal to build a dormitory for girl students in India.

#EthicalChristmas: Money, Ethics, and Dharma Practice - A New Campaign on The Buddhist Centre Online

By Candradasa on Wed, 8 Oct, 2014 - 17:00A couple of months ago I was sitting in a room at Adhisthana, listening to my friend Mokshini speak very movingly about some quite profound shifts in her own sense of Dharma practice. She talked about having newly considered in her own life the sorts of issues raised by Triratna’s participation in Buddhist Action Month every year: environmental concerns, economic questions, all manner of socially engaged topics relevant to anyone looking to explore the...

International Council 2014, Voices No. 4 - Aryaketu (India, Order Strand)

By Dassini on Sun, 10 Aug, 2014 - 16:07
A great conversation on today’s podcast with Aryaketu from India. Inspiring tales from his Aryaloka Computer Institute project teaching I.T. skills to women and men from amongst India’s poorest communities as a way out of poverty. And a rousing evocation of why the International Council represents something vital to the sangha in India and is, indeed, the flowering of Dr. Ambedkar’s vision for the Dalit community.

$1000 to change the world

By Munisha on Tue, 12 Nov, 2013 - 17:00If you were given US $1000 to plant a seed for world change, what would you do with it?

Every day, The Pollination Project awards $1000 seed grants to individuals working for social change. Last summer they decided to award grants to 20 North American teachers who were changing the world. Their eyes lighted upon San Francisco Order member Dayamudra.

An English teacher in San Francisco, Dayamudra spends a month every year teaching ...

Triratna America - Dayamudra: Jai Bhim International

By Candradasa on Thu, 20 Jun, 2013 - 20:25
Dayamudra runs Jai Bhim International out of San Francisco, working with Dalit communities in India to escape the stigma of caste through education. This is a great interview where her natural passion for a cause that’s dear to her heart really shines through. An excellent introduction to the injustices of ‘untouchability’ in India and to how to move beyond it. Practically inspiring words from an inspired lady!
