The Next Phase at Padmaloka: Opening a Hybrid Retreat Centre

From Padmaloka Retreat Centre on Wed, 5 Aug, 2020 - 12:54

We’re on the cusp of another new phase beginning here at Padmaloka, that is the opening of a Hybrid Retreat Centre.

Having looked at the UK Government’s advice for places of worship and the advice for accommodation providers, we will be able to run some events that have a small number of people physically on retreat here. The new programme will be made up of events that are either residential only, a hybrid of residential and online, or online only. In...

Taraloka needs you…

We are looking for one or two Dharmacharinis to join the community and help hold the guardianship of this vital retreat centre.

Taraloka has been at the heart of the women’s wing since opening in November 1985.  Thirty five years later, we are moving through this period of collective, worldwide transition and uncertainty.  We need women who care about the vision of Taraloka as a sacred...

A New Buddhist Centre for York

From Triratna News on Tue, 4 Aug, 2020 - 11:25

A new Triratna Buddhist Centre is currently taking shape in the heart of historic York in the UK, just round the corner from the famous Minster.

This will be the new home of the York Buddhist Group which was started in November 2017 by Shakyapada, and three mitra friends: Mark Jones, Kate Readman and Ley Robinson, using a hired room in a York community centre. Dharmabyte: The Super Powers of the Dharma

From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 3 Aug, 2020 - 14:00

Satyalila offers a clear and practical guide to how our spiritual journey can consist in transforming the ‘poisons’ (greed, hatred, delusion, pride and envy) with (and ultimately into) the five spiritual faculties (faith, wisdom, mindfulness, samadhi and energy-in-pursuit-of-the-good). This excerpt is focussed on cultivating Wisdom to transform Anger and Hatred.

From the talk entitled “Let Your Poison Be Your Cure” rom the Bristol Sangha Retreat at Adhisthana in May 2017. The title is...

Closure of Clear Vision

From Triratna News on Mon, 3 Aug, 2020 - 10:47

It is with sadness that the Trustees of Clear Vision have announced its closure from September 2020. Over the past 35 years Clear Vision has been a vital part of the FWBO/Triratna Community having documented much of our community’s history through video, particularly Newsreels, Triratna Newsbytesfilming Sangharakshita’s talks, events and tours, and much more. Clear Vision has also developed the beginnings of a photographic archive and library and video archive, a range of award-winning ...
