Online Buddhist Events for Gay Men

From The Community Toolkit for Uncertain Times on Thu, 25 Jun, 2020 - 17:29

I have been running Online Buddhist Events for Gay Men every Saturday morning at 0930 to 1100 (U.K. 🇬🇧 time), since the end of March. They are going really well, we have a great community of people who regularly attend from various countries around the world. It’s been so good looking at a whole range of themes.

We meditate, have inspiring talks, breakout groups to connect with a smaller number of people and Q & A. We...

From Free Buddhist Audio on Thu, 25 Jun, 2020 - 14:00

Untangling our Views…

Amaragita explodes and expands notions around the practice of paying attention via awareness of the breath, using the deceptively simple exercise of taking just five breaths through the day.

We hear how the practice relates to the theory of Buddhist meditation and are encouraged to choose and learn from our direct experience of how we respond to our breath in the moment. There is also a chance to try it out as you listen -...

Into the Dark Wood (The Dharma Toolkit, Episode 30)

From The Community Toolkit for Uncertain Times on Wed, 24 Jun, 2020 - 01:58

Join us for a walk into the forest of the unknown. Enchantments await. Groves of images. Bridges to the unseen. A path that wanders lost until some deeper magic happens…

We are back in the realm of art and the making of images, the making of things, the making of meaning. Nagasiddhi’s trainings in technical sculpture, prop design and building, the rituals of puppetry, and carpentry with wood left by his father long ago - all these have prepared him for a...

This week's eBook give away - The Body

From The Community Toolkit for Uncertain Times on Mon, 22 Jun, 2020 - 14:21

The high streets are waking from their slumber, and we’re anticipating further easing of the lockdown. There are many questions; is it safe, when will travel be possible, when can I spend time with friends and loved ones in person again, what will happen with work and the economy?

Like many others I’ve also been involved in conversations about race and the growing anti-racism movement. I’ve been thinking about my own place and what I can do, exploring my conditioning, and listening...

Dharmabyte: The Art of Engagement and the Art of Letting Go

From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 22 Jun, 2020 - 14:00

Sanghadevi shares a story on the development of enlightenment through tales of pilgrimage from the Avatamsaka Sutra, known as the Flower Ornament Scripture. This story illustrates the art of engagement and the art of letting go, combining activity with receptivity, which supports the arising of the unbounded energy of the creative mind.
