How can we equip ourselves to co-operate in collective action and play? How do we work with negative emotions and polarized views? Many of us long to be in deeper communication and relationships with others, but in order to do that we need to create the necessary conditions for community to arise. On Saturday 8th October, the Sangha - local and not so local - gathered to witness and celebrate the official opening of the York Buddhist Centre in its prime central location. York is in north Yorkshire, in the North-East of England and about 25 miles from Leeds (where Shakyapada connected with Triratna) and about 40 miles from Scarborough where there is also a nascent Triratna presence.
Our new theme ‘Radical Reality’ continues with a talk from Satyajyoti that turns conventional wisdom on its head.
Encounter the radical teachings of the Buddha - teachings which are immediately apparent, perennial and of the nature of a personal invitation. Hear the Dharma that enables us see into the constantly changing nature of reality and free ourselves and others from suffering.
The Buddha's teaching was not given to be convenient, comfortable or to fit in with the ways of the world. The Dharma gives us a radical take on how things are - be prepared to be challenged!

Sangharakshita goes to Buddhafield! A first for him, and a first for the fabulous Buddhafield Festival that takes place each year at the height of the English summer. This talk was given in a tent in Devon - and the sounds of this great Dharma celebration are everywhere around as Sangharakshita marks his entry to the ‘Dharma Parlour’ with a rolling set of thoughts and reminiscences and encouragements to practice.
In June 2023, Order Members and Mitras Training For Ordination gathered together in a big marque set up in Taraloka's beautiful grounds to listen to a series of talks and guided meditations led by Vajradevi on the theme of the Satipatthana Sutta
Reflecting on the theme of the weekend Vajradevi said: "When we’re mindful and present to what’s happening – both ‘internally’ and ‘externally’ – our responses become steady, wise, and confident. Whatever we’re doing, whether we’re meditating, working, communicating, or singing, becomes a vehicle to ‘grow’ awareness. Mindfulness becomes panoramic and we live with immediacy and creativity."
