Satyaraja begins the series of talks on the four acceptance verses with an inspiring, careful, and systematic exploration of the verse ‘With Loyalty to my Teachers, I Accept this Ordination’. He investigates the centrality of the relationship with Bhante Sangharakshita, our own preceptors and the world and culture which we join at the sacred moment of ordination.

Enlightenment being ineffable and indescribable, it is perhaps best explored through deeply contemplating the life of the Buddha - the living embodiment of Enlightenment. In this talk, Padmasagara guides us through the Ariyapariyesana sutta and draws out 5 essential points from the life of the Buddha to help us in our practice of the third ordination acceptance verse - 'for the attainment of enlightenment, I accept this ordination'.

Urgyen Sangharakshita, the teacher and founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order and movement holds a central position within it. In this conversation that took place during the ‘What is the Order?’ retreat, Maitreyabandhu, with great sensitivity and clarity, draws out Padmavajra who shares with complete honesty and openness his personal relationship with his teacher, the responsibility of being a public preceptor, perspectives on controversies within the movement, and Bhante’s position within the Order today. During this hour and a half, we have the great fortune to witness Padmavajra witnessing Bhante, and Sangharakshita in his turn witnessing Dhardo Rimpoche who witnesses the Buddha.
