Buddhafield Week - Part II

From Community Highlights on Sun, 7 Jul, 2013 - 18:25As you may have read over on Triratna News, it’s been a strong time of late at Buddhafield, the Triratna project we have been featuring this summer in the run-up to their annual festival from July 17th-21st. Vegan Summer & the Five Precepts

From Glasgow Buddhist Centre on Tue, 2 Jul, 2013 - 11:29Every summer we have the quirkily named “Summertime Specials”, a series of Dharma talks, and this year’s theme is The Five Precepts. To accompany this series we’re having Vegan Summer - the GBC is going totally vegan for six weeks! How best to put the 1st Precept into action?!

The material is centred on the Buddha’s Honeyball Sutta and will help act as a springboard to taking us deeper into our practice - noticing opportunities for change and growth.

We’ll start on Sunday 21st July with a day retreat, doing some meditation together, looking at the material from the book, including a presentation on ‘everyday mindfulness’, followed by discussion about how we can bring this...
