The Inspiration of the Buddha

From Portsmouth Buddhist Center on Thu, 9 Jun, 2022 - 01:08

Meditation, Dharma, Community — Every Sunday, 10-11:30am at Gateway Taiji in Portsmouth or online on Zoom

This summer we’ll be gathering to meditate and explore stories from the Udāna.
The Udāna is one of the oldest collections of the Buddha’s teaching, and includes some of the best known and influential tales and teachings.

Atha kho bhagavā etam-atthaṃ viditvā tāyaṃ velāyaṃ imaṃ udānaṃ udānesi —
Then, on realizing its significance, the Lord uttered on that occasion this inspired utterance

Whether you’re...

Handover of chair of Akashavana...

From Akashavana on Tue, 7 Jun, 2022 - 17:29

On Sunday 22 May we ritually enacted the handing over of the chair of Akashavana from Mumukshu to me. Chairs' Letter – May 2022

From College of Public Preceptors on Tue, 31 May, 2022 - 18:50

Dear Order Members and friends,

As well as being College Chair, I’ve come to hold various other responsibilities within Triratna, including currently being a Centre President and involved in the International Council. Looking back, becoming part of the women’s ordination team at Tiratanaloka was probably the most significant factor in shaping this life; but actually it goes back even further than that and has really emerged from a network of kalyanamitrata…

I first encountered the FWBO / Triratna in London, when I was...

Triratna Model Safeguarding Policies and Ethical Guidelines 2022

From Triratna Resources on Mon, 23 May, 2022 - 12:33

Here are Triratna’s model policies for Safeguarding children and adults, updated for 2022 by Triratna’s ECA Safeguarding team, along with the Triratna Model Ethical Guidelines.

Safeguarding and ethical policies and procedures are a practical expression of ahimsa, non-harming, the value underlying Buddhist precepts and the Bodhisattva activity of protecting living beings from harm.

The Triratna Model Safeguarding Policies follow UK legal requirements and the regulatory requirements of the Charity Commission for England and Wales, who now also require charities to have a statement of more general...
