Originally published in 1993, Vessantara’s Meeting the Buddhas rapidly attained the status of a classic not only within Triratna, but also in the wider Buddhist world. Out of print since 2008, it’s been carefully revised and updated, and in December we’ll be releasing a brand-new edition. The new cover was designed by Akasajoti, and many of the images that illustrate the text are new.

החיים מלאים בסערות שמחוללות נסיבות חיצוניות או פנימיות. הן יכולות לעורר בנו השתוקקות או סלידה, תקווה או פחד, אך גם נדיבות, טוּב לב ותובנה. הבודהה תיאר את אותן טלטלות – קטנות כגדולות – באמצעות ארבעה זוגות של רוחות העולם: רווח והפסד, תהילה וקלון, שבח וגנאי, עונג וכאב. אי אפשר להימלט מפניהן: הן מנשבות בדרכים רבות בכל מקום: בבית, בעבודה, בחופשה ובבית הספר. וכשאנו נידפים כך ברוח, כיצד נוכל שלא לאבד תחושת כיוון, ביטחון ומשמעות?
