Ratnadharini is on the final day(!) of her 150 mile pilgrimage between the places of Sangharakshita’s birth and death; and, we have reached 88% of her fundraising target.

Here she shares her delight and gratitude for all the generosity she has received thus far, and tells us of her inspiration for the Tiratanaloka Unlimited project.

She would like to raise another £1800, which we could do if 25 people give £70 each.

Day 7: Weald to Great Barrington, 12 miles. Wheat-fields, storm-clouds, and Ratnadharini’s mythic motivation… ⛅️🌾🌝  

Ratnadharini writes:

A relatively easy day across fields and through a few small villages, with houses, churches, drystone walls and stiles of honey-coloured Cotswold stone. I’m actually staying in Burford, taking a bus there and back again tomorrow morning. Planning to set out at 5.30, as tomorrow is 19.5 miles and the forecast is for heavy rain and thunder… will let you know how it goes!

Day off yesterday! Thanks to my 94 year old mum, who fed me, washed my clothes, and generously contributed to the fundraising (as did my sister). I’m buoyed up by all the support - financial and otherwise; this pilgrimage - and Tiratanaloka Unlimited - is clearly of interest to many. Thanks also to Akasajoti for making it possible for me to take you all with me!

Having lived for 15 years at Tiratanaloka, before taking on the property search, purchase and renovation of Adhisthana, Tiratanaloka Unlimited is a project close to her heart. For the last three and a half years she has been serving our Order and Community as the Chair...

Day Five was a 13 mile stretch, of wildflowers and familiar landscapes, arriving (or rather, skipping…) into Ratnadharini’s hometown of Abingdon, where she is visiting her mum for a rest day tomorrow. At this halfway point, she reflects on the how supported she feels by the Sangha, and on the purpose of the whole thing: to support women’s ordination training in Triratna…🌼🎉🙏🏻
