To mark the first anniversary of the opening weekend, we present a picture show: Adhisthana at high summer.

Amid Herefordshire’s wonderful landscape, the Sangharakshita Memorial Library is gradually taking shape. The building will eventually house Bhante’s library and an exhibition space.

Aryaloka's stupa: taking a stand on samsara

From Triratna News on Wed, 30 Jul, 2014 - 10:31Further to our previous news post, The Dhardo Rinpoche stupa at Aryaloka Retreat Center in New Hampshire, USA is rapidly taking shape, with the completion of the base, or “lion throne” portion.

This lion throne contains a large sealed urn with contents representing aspects of samsara, some of them rather intriguing! Here are a few of them.
  • An old police service revolver and ammunition
  • A knife
  • Some coral
  • Gold chains
  • Silver and amber items
  • Dirt from the homes of wealthy people
  • Horse and alpaca fur
  • A hammer
  • Garden tools
  • A symbolic hatchet
