January at Adhisthana

By Caroline I P on Wed, 31 Jan, 2024 - 16:30

It has been a lovely start to the year already. In community news, Caroline will be going to Akasavana this year and will be ordained by Aryajaya – we look forward to...

The world needs a radical blueprint for change. The Dharma, as elucidated by Sangharakshita, provides a...

The Guru's Advice: Sub35 Festival Retreat

THU 26 AUGMON 30 AUG

Lived out fully, Buddhist practice is revolutionary. Its purpose is a complete transformation of every element of our lives and of the world around us.

The legendary Tibetan Guru Padmasambhava is the archetype of this transformation. His mythic life story presents a conflict between the forces of light and the forces of darkness – a conflict that takes place within our own hearts and minds. Following his example, we can learn to...

By Munisha on Fri, 16 Jun, 2017 - 17:05

Jnanacandra is Chair of Triratna’s Essen Buddhist Centre, in Germany. She writes about their recent Jugendfeier – a rite of passage for adolescents – held on 5th June for four teenage boys. Open the pictures fully to see the very evident love and appreciation of the boys and their parents!

“This beautifully designed ceremony ritually marked the end of the boys’ childhood and their embarking on the path toward adulthood. About 60 people were present, mostly from the boys’ families,...

Researching young Buddhists

By Munisha on Mon, 12 May, 2014 - 00:20As we reported a few days ago, Singhamati is the new (and first!) Young Persons’ Co-ordinator appointed by Triratna’s European Chairs’ Assembly.

In February, even before she started the job, she undertook a piece of research exploring
  • the characteristics of the younger generation
  • their receptivity to religion and
  • a review of the Triratna Young Buddhists’ Project so far.

Listen to Singhamati’s 26-minute talk on her research, given at the Young Facilitators’ meeting in April.
