At the age of 13 she and her family took part in that momentous event that changed her life, and the lives of all who took part, forever. Recently I suggested there were many people who would be delighted to ‘meet’ the woman who makes these items, given to members of the Order at their ordinations. I persuaded her to speak to camera - in English - even though she was very shy about doing so.

October this year saw the first North Indian National Youth Convention (of NNBY).  375 young people came to a retreat in Syna, UP.  Many of them were from areas without many Buddhists and were experiencing Triratna for the first time.  They were not necessarily from Buddhist families - there were some Muslims and some who had heard of Dr Ambedkar, but were new to Buddhism.  It was an immensely positive and inspiring event.  For some it was life...

It being Bhante Sangharakshita’s 92nd birthday, at 10.45am all were assembled in the Adhisthana courtyard. As we waited we chanted the mantra sabbe satta sukkhi hontu (May all beings be well and happy!) Paramartha helped Bhante towards a chair, we sang Happy Birthday, he blew out the candles on a very small cake presented by Zoe Lim (the only mitra in Singapore) and Dhiraprabha presented him with a giant roll of birthday greetings from us.

We have opened new Learning Club at Bhadant Kaushallyananagar at Pilinadi Nagpur in collaboration with Babasaheb Ambedkar National Association of Engineers (BANAE) for poor children. In this class they get an opportunity to continue education without paying fees in professional classes which their parents cannot bear. Participants  were so happy and full of enthusiasm in this programme....

On 30 July, we started a new Bal Sanskara Class (Children’s Buddhist Class) at Bharatwada village at Nagpur for New Buddhist Children who don’t have opportunity to learn Buddhism from Childhood.

Our volunteer Dhammamitra Ashvaghosh Raul initiated for this class and continued. We are thankful of our volunteers !
