More Triratna climate change actions

Continuing our Triratna News mini-series marking the COP21 climate change talks in Paris, more news of climate change actions from around the Triratna world. 

Dublin Buddhist Centre, in Ireland, released their Statement on Human-Caused Global Warming today. Last week, we hear, Triratna individuals were among those staging a ritual inside the British Museum, as part of the Art, not Oil coalition’s opposition to BP’s (British Petroleum) sponsorship of several British arts institutions.

"Buddhist Climate Superheroes"

Fifteen of the world’s senior Buddhists have issued a landmark call to political leaders to adopt an effective climate change agreement at COP21.

Once again the world’s faiths are out in front, lighting the way on climate. Pope Francis’ Encyclical and the Lambeth Declaration during the summer kicked it off, and the Islamic Declaration on Climate Change made history in August.

Now the Buddhists are lifting their voices. 

The Dalai Lama, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa are just some of the supporting the new Buddhist Climate Change Statement to World Leaders, signed by 15 of the world’s top Buddhists. This is momentous — it is the the first time so many respected Buddhist leaders have come together around a single global issue.
