Karunadevi in conversation with Nagabodhi

By Saccanama on Mon, 28 Dec, 2015 - 11:08

Karunadevi talks about her involvement in Triratna in the very early days of the Movement in the USA. Karunadevi established Triratna in the Bay Area of Califronia and, along with Saramati, was the first American to be ordained in the USA. She is also currently the only public preceptor living in the USA.

Nagabodhi has worked with her over many years in his role as a public preceptor for the men in the USA.

New article by Gaziano and Lewis on vegetarianism

By Dhivan Thomas Jones on Thu, 12 Dec, 2013 - 17:36I am very pleased to announce that I’ve uploaded a new article in the Western Buddhist Review. Joe Gaziano and Jacquie Lewis are Buddhists in a vipassanā tradition in the US. Their article explores the topic of Buddhism and vegetarianism in their home country, where many Buddhists appear not to translate the Buddha’s teaching on non-harming into a commitment to a vegetarian diet.
