Dear Brothers & Sisters in the Dharma,

I am very sorry to be letting you know that Sambhara is at present in West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, with the expectation that he will move from there into residential care when we find somewhere appropriate.

The background to this is that in June 2017 Sambhara was given a diagnosis of mixed dementia (Alzheimers and vascular dementia). This did not come as a great shock because he had attended a memory clinic in...

We are happy to announce the public ordination of ex-Dan Roberts from the Seattle Sangha at the Dharmadhara Retreat Center on 15th May, 2019.

Dan becomes Karunashanti.  His new name means “He whose peace is through or from compassion.”

Shantinayaka was Private Preceptor and Viradhamma was Public Preceptor.

We are sad to let you know that Dharmachari Maitreya has died at the age of 73. He was ordained by Bhante in 1975, the third Finnish person to join the Order.
