The sequence for alternating International Conventions on a 3 yearly basis between the UK and India was a proposal for 10 years, and that time period has now finished. It has been a very successful sequence and important in broadening internationality.

  • UK Buddhist Climate Action Training day
    Taking place in Brixton, South London on 23rd February. It is run by Religions for Peace, GreenFaith, and the Faith for the Climate Network, with the support of the Network of Buddhist Organizations UK, who have taken climate action as the theme for Buddhist Action Month 2019. More details can

We are pleased to announce the recent ordination celebrated at Adhisthana on Thursday 28th February 2019. Helen Rey from the Seattle Sangha becomes Prasadadhi (long second ‘a’ and long ‘i’), a Sanskrit name meaning ‘She whose Wisdom is clear, bright, pure.’ Punyamala was both Private and Public Preceptor. 🎉

Other recent ordinations from around the Triratna world include Joy Fratelle from Port Fairy who was publicly ordained at Melbourne Buddhist Centre on Saturday 23rd February 2019. Joy becomes Maitrībodhinī (sixth and last letter both long ī). Her name...
