From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 5 Sep, 2022 - 06:00

How do we retain our individuality while practicing with other people? Are we true individuals, or are we rebels, and are the two really that different? From the talk The Individual, the Group and the Spiritual Community given at San Francisco Buddhist Center, 2007.

Fifty Years, Fifty Voices: Samasuri (Highlights)

From Buddhist Voices on Wed, 24 Aug, 2022 - 15:48

It’s the wounded healer myth. I guess part of me wanting to be Doctor is my psyche trying to sort all that suffering out… Helping others like I’ve been helped or am being helped.

Samasuri’s Annals:

In 1968 I was not born yet!

In 1978 I was 4 years old, so probably at a play group and living in South Devon with my parents.

In 1988 I was 14 years old. Living with parents and younger brother in South Devon still. At private girls’ school in Exeter.

In 1998...

From Community Highlights on Sat, 3 Sep, 2022 - 14:51

To help the Urgyen Sangharakshita Trust in its next phase of work, we launched a survey at the recent UK and Ireland Order Convention exploring people’s responses to Sangharakshita. We heard from over 100 order members, who expressed a wide range of views on Sangharakshita and his legacy.

But we want to hear from you too - how do you feel about Sangharakshita? How are we doing at our mission to connect people with his legacy?

Whatever your response to Sangharakshita, we’d really appreciate you taking just...

Who Was Sangharakshita?

From London Buddhist Centre on Tue, 30 Aug, 2022 - 00:00
The founder of our movement and Order - Sangharakshita, or 'Bhante' to most of us - was a global presence in Buddhism for over 70 years. His clear and sometimes provocative teachings have touched and transformed thousands of lives. But who was he? With meditation, poetry and storytelling, Maitreyabandhu - a long-time disciple of Bhante's who knew him personally - will introduce us more deeply to the man and his vision. Hosted by Kusalasara at the London Buddhist Centre, August 2022.

Dharmabyte: Ways We Limit Ourselves

From Free Buddhist Audio on Mon, 29 Aug, 2022 - 06:00

Abandoning Our Wrong Ideas About the Path

More poetry, more Rumi, more listening joy from Vajradarshini. And what a title!
