Fifty Years, Fifty Voices: Abhaya (Highlights)

From Buddhist Voices on Sat, 1 Oct, 2022 - 11:48

“You have to balance or hold the bearer of the archetype with the ordinary human being, that’s very important. Because there’s no way you’re going to reconcile them.”

Abhaya Annals:

In 1968 I was living in Cornwall with my family, sharing in a kind of family community experiment. I had met Bhante and the seedling movement a year before at his first summer retreat at Haslemere, Surrey.

In 1978 I was working as a carpenter at Sukhavati in Bethnal Green, which soon came to be...

News about Advayamati’s end of life care

From Order Connection on Sat, 1 Oct, 2022 - 10:58

Dear Friends,

I wrote some months ago to say that Advayamati has pancreatic cancer. He arrived
back in Colchester to his house in Northgate Street in early September. He lived here with Pennie and Jaiya for many years when they moved out of London. Pennie still lives in Colchester and so is on hand to give her support to both Jaiya and Advayamati.

Pennie is Advayamati’s ex-partner, and Jaiya is his son. Advayamati and Pennie kept up a very good connection after their relationship ended....

FBA Podcast: The Cremation Ground

From Free Buddhist Audio on Sat, 1 Oct, 2022 - 06:00

Vidyasakhi vividly draws us into the magical world of the Eight Cremation Grounds where Padmasambhava tamed demons and engaged in his Bodhisattva training. Vidyasakhi is a musician and Padmasambhava practitioner with a background in storytelling. She has used these skills to dramatise The Life and Liberation of Padmasambhava and is a very good guide into the symbolism of this sacred space.

This talk was given at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, 2017.
