Meditation in Citizens square 1

From Stockholms buddhistcenter on Fri, 1 Jun, 2012 - 21:16On Friday 5th of May a small group of us meditated on Medborgarplatsen, Stockholm. A great thing to do. This was my view, for a period, if I’d kept my eyes open; which I obviously did for this period. Taken with my IPhone 3GS.

International dolls - and a game of hide and seek...

From Triratna International Gathering 2017 - What The World Needs Now on Fri, 1 Jun, 2012 - 07:24
It’s the International Retreat - and we’ve persuaded a very international collection of dolls to come and join us! They’re hidden around the site, we’re hoping the children will find them one by one and add them to the shrine. Right now they’re pretty busy helping out!

A quick guide to the online retreat (redux)

From Imagine the Buddha on Thu, 31 May, 2012 - 23:24Thought I had better post this here too… :)

Hi all, here are a few things to bear in mind for the online version of the retreat, which we’ll be running from Friday till Tuesday - and beyond! We hope it’ll be a great space to connect with each other and keep your inspiration burning bright when the tents are all folded away and everyone’s home again…

1. This main space (the ‘Project’) will be the place...

And the Twitter hashtag is...

From Imagine the Buddha on Thu, 31 May, 2012 - 23:19If you’re partial to a Tweet or two (but not a twit!) the hashtag for Twitter shenanigans with the International Retreat is #internationalretreat.

If you want to help spread the love for the new social network itself, the hashtag is #triratnaconnect.

ps. Our actual Twitter account is here, should you wish to follow…

A wee Doodle to find a time to meet on Facebook...

From Imagine the Buddha on Thu, 31 May, 2012 - 22:38So, the theme of the retreat is ‘Imagining the Buddha’. We need a related theme for our special Facebook discussion on Monday - but first we need a time! Make your choices here and we’ll try and accommodate as many folk as we can… Thanks!

Creativity that inspired me - Dealing with hatred and realising its futility

Creativity that inspired me - Dealing with hatred and realising its futility

From Triratna Young Buddhists on Thu, 31 May, 2012 - 22:06I created this video for one of the young people’s meetings of the Ipswich & Colchester group - we were asked to bring some creative source which inspires us.

I took two songs which at some point of my life meant something to me, or gave me some ‘insight’ into life, or the way things are, and put them to images. It’s a bit loud at the start, fair warning!

Ethics in the world of everyday existence

From Triratna Young Buddhists on Thu, 31 May, 2012 - 21:52This was a video which I made for my Mitra Study project.

The module we studied was Year 3, Module 6 - An Interconnected World - Buddhist Ethics and Contemporary Issues.

I took two pieces of music which I felt echoed areas of the material we were studying, and set some short video clips, images and words to these. I’ll be adding a final section when I get time at the recommendation of the group (I lost confidence...
