Join the LBC team at Vajrasana

We’re looking for another Dharmachari or GFR Mitra to come and live and work with us at Vajrasana.

Vajrasana is a completely new Buddhist environment – it’s feels more like a temple.

Working at Vajrasana you’ll be fully part of the LBC Team and, as such, you’ll enjoy regular contact with the guys in Bethnal Green as well as good training, opportunities and a generous support package.

BAM at the Wellington Buddhist Centre

From Buddhist Action on Thu, 8 Jun, 2017 - 22:20

We launched BAM on May 30th with a talk on the precepts and a discussion on how we might extend the practice of them bearing in mind “beings living far away and beings yet to be born”.

After a practice of the Metta Bhavana our individual intentions for June were offered and are displayed at the Centre.

As a Sangha, we are moving towards Zero – Waste trying to put into practice the 5 Rs: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Rot, Recycle. With no landfill...

BAM Launch @ the West London Buddh

From Buddhist Action on Thu, 8 Jun, 2017 - 20:48

At the WLBC we have dedicated the weekly Sangha nights this month to BAM, with material inspired by Vajracaksu’s course based on Akuppa’s book ‘Saving the Earth’. On this first in a series of four Tuesday evenings, we pondered the following three questions, to help us articulate our specific intentions for the month:

1. Have you had any experiences in your life of a strong sense of community and collaboration?

2. Is there a particular social or ecological issue you feel passionate about?

3. How could you connect...

BAM in Oslo

From Buddhist Action on Thu, 8 Jun, 2017 - 15:54

Just a short note on what we do.

Last week, 1st of June we opened our new temporary centre.

Tonight we will brainstorm how we might practice engaged buddhism in our everyday lives, and set targets for the next two weeks.

Next week we will explore an idea from a zen-inspired buddhist who wants to start an engaged buddhist group of sorts.

22.6 we will review our engaged practice.

29.6 we will close for the season and dedicate our merits after meditation and puja.
