As part of the 2016 Mythic Context retreat at Padmaloka Maitreyabandhu led a number of meditation workshops for men training for ordination into the Triratna Buddhist Order, based on Sangharakshita's System of Practice. These sessions are packed with tips, tools and insightful pointers, all with the aim of deepening one's practice of meditation, and consequently of enriching one's whole life.

William Blake (1757 – 1827) is one of my literary heroes, and I was therefore pleased when a seminar on his life and work was held at Adhisthana under the title ‘Energy is Eternal Delight’.  The retreat was accompanied by an exhibition of Blake’s illustrations to The Book of Job, organised by Satyalila.  There was also a reproduction of his engraving ‘Death’s Door’, which shows an old man wearing shepherd’s garments and with a lantern in his hand about to...

Dear brothers and sisters in the Order,

Our Dharma sister Abhayanita from Essen, Germany, died peacefully early this morning in the hospice. Please send her and her husband Suvarnadipa as well as her two children, two grandchildren and friends lots of metta.

Abhayanita was ordained last year, her Yidam is Amitabha. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer only about eight weeks ago. After a spell of several weeks in the hospital she was able to come...
