With great sadness we inform you of the passing away of Urgyen Sangharakshita, today, 30th October 2018, at approximately 10 am in Hereford Hospital. He had been diagnosed with pneumonia and this morning the consultant said that he also had sepsis, from which recovery was not possible.

Dear Order members,

Yesterday we informed you that Bhante had been diagnosed with pneumonia. I am very sorry to inform you that this morning the Consultant has said that Bhante has sepsis from which recovery is not possible. Therefore the treatment with antibiotics has been stopped and it is likely that Bhante will die quite soon. He has mostly been sleeping and hardly responsive, and is being given medication to settle him. Paramartha, Suvajra and Sanghadasa are with...

It initially served as a place for information about the ceremonies that took place after his death, and around the funeral itself, as well as for messages of appreciation and gratitude. Dear Order Members,

This is to let you know that Bhante is being admitted into hospital today. We do not yet have a diagnosis however for a few days now he has felt very unwell and his overall health is of some concern.

We will of course keep you informed, and meanwhile let us send Bhante our metta.
